Easy Korean Level 10 - Unit 23: Advanced Situational Expressions (Giving Compliments in Business)
Giving compliments in a business setting requires a different vocabulary than praising a friend. You need to sound professional, respectful, and appreciative of their hard work and competence.
1. Praising Competence and Skill
Instead of "μν΄μ" (you do well), use these professional phrases. - μ 무 μ²λ¦¬ λ₯λ ₯μ΄ λ°μ΄λμλ€μ. (Your work processing ability is outstanding.) - λμ²κ° μμ£Ό λΉ λ₯΄μλ€μ. (Your response/handling of the situation is very quick.) - μμ μ λ¬Έκ°λ΅λ€μ. (As expected of a professional.)
2. Expressing Gratitude for Hard Work
Acknowledge the effort someone put into a project. - μ κ²½ μ¨ μ£Όμ μ μ λ§ κ°μ¬ν©λλ€. (Thank you very much for paying attention to this / caring about this.) - μκ³ λ§μΌμ ¨μ΅λλ€. (You put in a lot of hard work. - Use with peers or subordinates, not usually to the CEO!) - λλΆμ μΌμ΄ μμνκ² μ§νλμμ΅λλ€. (Thanks to you, the work proceeded smoothly.)
3. Praising an Idea or Presentation
- μμ΄λμ΄κ° μμ£Ό μ°Έμ νλ€μ. (The idea is very novel/refreshing.)
- μ€λΉλ₯Ό μ λ§ μ² μ ν νμ ¨λ€μ. (You prepared very thoroughly.)
- μ€λͺ μ΄ κ·μ μμ λ€μ΄μμ. (The explanation comes right into my ears -> It's very easy to understand / clearly explained.)
