Unit 8: Telling Time

Telling time in Easy Korean requires knowing both the Native Korean numbers and the Sino-Korean numbers!

Hours (Native Korean Numbers + μ‹œ)

We use Native Korean numbers for the hour (μ‹œ). - 1:00 -> ν•œ μ‹œ (not ν•˜λ‚˜ μ‹œ) - 2:00 -> 두 μ‹œ (not λ‘˜ μ‹œ) - 3:00 -> μ„Έ μ‹œ - 4:00 -> λ„€ μ‹œ - 5:00 -> λ‹€μ„― μ‹œ ... - 12:00 -> 열두 μ‹œ

Minutes (Sino-Korean Numbers + λΆ„)

We use Sino-Korean numbers for the minute (λΆ„). - 10 minutes -> μ‹ λΆ„ - 15 minutes -> μ‹μ˜€ λΆ„ - 30 minutes -> μ‚Όμ‹ λΆ„ (or 반 meaning "half")
