Unit 25: Let's
Unit 25: Let's
When someone asks "Shall we?" (-(μΌ)γΉκΉμ?), you can reply with "Let's!" in Easy Korean. There are a few ways to say this.
1. Casual/Polite: -μ/μ΄μ
The most natural way to say "Let's" in everyday polite conversation is just to use the standard present tense ending -μ/μ΄μ, but change your intonation to sound like a suggestion. - κ°μ. (I am going OR Let's go.) - λ°₯μ λ¨Ήμ΄μ. (I am eating OR Let's eat.)
2. Formal: -(μΌ)γ μλ€
If you are in a formal setting (a meeting) or speaking to a group, you use -(μΌ)γ μλ€. However, do not use this to elders or bosses, as it can sound slightly bossy! - Vowel stem: + -γ μλ€ (κ°λ€ -> κ°μλ€) - Consonant stem: + -μμλ€ (λ¨Ήλ€ -> λ¨Ήμμλ€)
Examples
A: λ΄μΌ λ§λ κΉμ? (Shall we meet tomorrow?) B: λ€, λ΄μΌ λ§λμ. / λ€, λ΄μΌ λ§λ©μλ€. (Yes, let's meet tomorrow.)
