Unit 21: For A... (-μΉκ³ (λ))
In Easy Korean, when something goes against the general expectation for a certain category, you use -μΉκ³ or -μΉκ³ λ. It translates to "considering that it is a..." or "for a...".
Structure
Noun + -μΉκ³ (λ)
- μΈκ΅μΈ -> μΈκ΅μΈμΉκ³ λ (For a foreigner)
- κ²¨μΈ -> 겨μΈμΉκ³ λ (Considering it is winter)
- μ²μ -> μ²μμΉκ³ λ (For the first time)
(Note: Adding 'λ' makes it a bit more emphatic, but they mean the same thing.)
Alternate Usage
When used with a negative ending, -μΉκ³ (without λ) means "every single one" or "there are no exceptions." - νκ΅μΈμΉκ³ κΉμΉλ₯Ό μ«μ΄νλ μ¬λμ μμ΄μ. (There is no Korean who dislikes kimchi = Every Korean likes kimchi.)
