Easy Korean Level 10 - Unit 19: Word Builder 25 / 신 (信)

Welcome to the last Word Builder lesson of the entire course! Today’s Chinese character root (Hanja) is 신 (信).

The meaning of this character is "Trust", "Believe", or "Faith". Whenever you see "신" in a word related to believing, trusting, or messages, it usually comes from this root.

Vocabulary

  1. 자신 (自信) = self-confidence, oneself
  2. 자 (self) + 신 (believe) -> To believe in oneself
  3. We learned 자신감 (self-confidence feeling) in Unit 4!

  4. 저는 할 수 있다는 자신이 있어요. = I have the confidence that I can do it.

  23. 한국에는 숫자 4에 대한 미신이 있어요. = In Korea, there is a superstition about the number 4.
