Unit 5: Days of the Week

In Easy Korean, learning the days of the week is simple once you memorize the first syllable. Every day ends in ์š”์ผ (day of the week).

The Days

  • Monday: ์›”์š”์ผ (Moon day)
  • Tuesday: ํ™”์š”์ผ (Fire day)
  • Wednesday: ์ˆ˜์š”์ผ (Water day)
  • Thursday: ๋ชฉ์š”์ผ (Wood/Tree day)
  • Friday: ๊ธˆ์š”์ผ (Gold/Metal day)
  • Saturday: ํ† ์š”์ผ (Earth day)
  • Sunday: ์ผ์š”์ผ (Sun day)

Asking the Day

  • ์˜ค๋Š˜ ๋ฌด์Šจ ์š”์ผ์ด์—์š”? (What day is it today?)
  • ์˜ค๋Š˜์€ ๊ธˆ์š”์ผ์ด์—์š”. (Today is Friday.)

Using Time Particles

To say "on Monday", you attach the time particle -์— to the day. - ์›”์š”์ผ์— ๋งŒ๋‚˜์š”. (Let's meet on Monday.) - ์ฃผ๋ง์— ๋ญ ํ•  ๊ฑฐ์˜ˆ์š”? (What will you do on the weekend? ์ฃผ๋ง = weekend)
