Unit 21: More (더)

In Easy Korean, when you want to say "more," you simply use the adverb 더. It is placed right before the verb or adjective you are modifying.

How to use 더

Unlike in English, where we often change the adjective (e.g., big -> bigger), in Korean, you just add 더 in front of the base word. - 크다 (to be big) -> 더 크다 (to be bigger) - 맛있다 (to be delicious) -> 더 맛있다 (to be more delicious) - 많이 (a lot) -> 더 많이 (more/in a greater amount)

Examples

  • 밥을 더 주세요. (Please give me more rice.)
  • 한국어가 더 재미있어요. (Korean is more fun.)
  • 조금 더 기다려 주세요. (Please wait a little more.)
