Unit 27: Because Of (때문에)

We learned -아/어/여서 for linking verbs (I was hungry, so I ate). But if you want to say "Because of [Noun]" in Easy Korean, you use 때문에.

Structure

Noun + 때문에 (Because of Noun)

It's very easy to use! You just attach it right after the noun. - 비 (Rain) -> 비 때문에 (Because of the rain) - 일 (Work) -> 일 때문에 (Because of work) - 너 (You) -> 너 때문에 (Because of you)

Examples

  • 감기 때문에 학교에 못 갔어요. (I couldn't go to school because of a cold.)
  • 날씨 때문에 기분이 좋아요. (I feel good because of the weather.)
  • 일 때문에 피곤해요. (I am tired because of work.)
