Unit 13: A little, Very, Really

Let's make our sentences richer in Easy Korean by using adverbs to describe how much.

1. ์กฐ๊ธˆ (A little / A bit)

Used to describe a small amount or degree. Often shortened to ์ข€ in spoken Korean. - ์กฐ๊ธˆ ๋ฐ”๋น ์š”. (I am a little busy.) - ๋ฌผ ์ข€ ์ฃผ์„ธ์š”. (Please give me a little water.)

2. ์•„์ฃผ (Very)

Used to emphasize the degree of a state or action. - ์ด ์‚ฌ๊ณผ๋Š” ์•„์ฃผ ๋ง›์žˆ์–ด์š”. (This apple is very delicious.)

3. ์ •๋ง / ์ง„์งœ (Really)

Used to emphasize truth or intensity. '์ง„์งœ' is very common in casual speech. - ์ •๋ง ๊ฐ์‚ฌํ•ฉ๋‹ˆ๋‹ค. (Thank you really much.) - ์ด๊ฑฐ ์ง„์งœ ๋งค์›Œ์š”! (This is really spicy!)

4. ๋„ˆ๋ฌด (Too / Very)

Originally, ๋„ˆ๋ฌด meant "too much" (in a negative way). But in modern Korean, it is widely used to mean "very" in both positive and negative contexts. - ๋„ˆ๋ฌด ๋น„์‹ธ์š”. (It is too expensive.) - ๋„ˆ๋ฌด ์ข‹์•„์š”! (It is so good!)
