Unit 7: To Someone, From Someone (한테, 한테서)

We learned how to mark locations previously. Now in Easy Korean, let's learn how to mark people as the destination or source of an action.

1. -한테 (To someone)

Used to indicate that you are giving something or communicating to someone. - 친구한테 전화했어요. (I called my friend.) - 동생한테 선물을 줬어요. (I gave a gift to my younger sibling.)

2. -한테서 (From someone)

Used to indicate that you are receiving something or hearing something from someone. - 선생님한테서 한국어를 배워요. (I learn Korean from my teacher.) - 친구한테서 편지를 받았어요. (I received a letter from my friend.)

(Note: '에게' and '에게서' are the written/formal equivalents of '한테' and '한테서')
