At Level 9, causal markers delineate whether an outcome stems from deep societal origin, subjective internal rationale, or total physical exhaustion.

(Formal / High Causal Origin / "Stemming From...")

A high-prestige, formal written connective describing deep foundational causes of widespread consequences, societal shifts, or historical events.

Structure:

[Root Origin / Catalyst Noun] + -(으)로 말미암아 + [Resulting Impact]

Examples:

(Stemming from the war, countless civilians lost their livelihood and homes.)
(Originating from environmental pollution, the balance of the ecosystem is rapidly collapsing.)
(Arising from a minor misunderstanding, decades of built-up trust cracked in an instant.)

(Formal Subjective Justification / "Seeing As / Since...")

Used in formal essays, thoughtful speeches, and reflective letters to provide a clear, logical justification for why a judgment or action was reached.

Structure:

[Evident Reason / Condition] + -기에 + [Resulting Judgment / Action]

Examples:

(Since I know his character and competence better than anyone, I gladly accepted this proposal.)
(Seeing as market entry conditions are not yet mature, we decided to adjust the launch timing.)

(Single-Minded Absorption Causing Impairment)

Used when one's absolute absorption in action A directly caused an impairment or neglect in action B (both clauses must share the same human subject).

Examples:

(Because I was so absorbed in studying for exams, I couldn't meet my friends at all last week.)
(Due to being glued to my smartphone, I ended up missing the station where I should have gotten off.)
